Ynysymond Preserves

It was always part of our plan when we moved to Wales to start selling some of the jams & chutneys that we make but 11 months in we hadn’t made a start.  An invitation to have a stand at the local school fete spurred us into action and we have now made our first sales.

As we wanted to do things properly, we waited until the local Environmental Health Officer had been out to inspected our kitchen, 5 stars – great start!

Jars and lids were ordered and initial recipes decided; we limited ourselves to 7 lines for our first foray.

Our first stand was a great success with 4 of the 7 lines quickly selling out.  We already have a couple of other events on our radar – watch this space.

As well as selling at local events, we will also be selling from home and I will be advertising in my treatment room as well.  Exciting times.

Bowen does it’s thing again

New client booked in for 3 treatments & on the 1st appointment really struggled to get her leg up onto the couch as she was in so much pain.  When she came for her 2nd appointment she reported that she had felt really ill after the 1st treatment and had gone to bed for a couple of hours. However, 3 days later she was completely pain free and had even managed to start running again. 3rd treatment cancelled as unnecessary, happy client with happy bank balance!

Chronic pain

Delighted to have 2 new Bowen clients starting this afternoon, both with chronic pain issues, one with her hip and one with her back.  It’s amazing how often the gentle moves of Bowen start to bring relief when other therapies and treatments haven’t helped.  Clients can normally tell within 3 treatments if Bowen is going to help them, so not too much pain in the bank balance either!

Bowen in Ammanford

Great news as I think I may have found a venue to be able to offer Bowen therapy appointments in Ammanford.  These would be during the day and most likely on a Monday.  Please contact me if you are interested in booking.  There will be an additional charge to cover room costs so treatments would be £32.

Body reading course

I was lucky enough last month to attend a 2 day body reading course for Bowen therapists led by the inspiring Julian Baker from the European College of Bowen Studies.

Many of us don’t realise that our aches and pains can be brought about as a result of older injuries or imbalances in other parts of the body, for example an old knee injury or broken ankle can cause the body to compensate by carrying weight on the other side of the body with resultant lower back pain possibly many months or even years later.  You may not even be aware that you are compensating in this way but such an imbalance may be successfully addressed with a course of Bowen treatments.

I’m really looking forward to using my improved body reading skills to pick up on any imbalances found.
